The Soenen Sisters
The Soenen Sisters are four talented young musicians who have been playing beautiful music together since they were very young. In addition to solo performances, they play together as a harp, flute/vocal, and cello trio or as a harp and cello duo. The groups play at weddings, parties, and other special occasions including county fairs, festivals, and more. They have won numerous awards over the years and have released four cds. They also offer music lessons in harp, flute, recorder, cello, piano, and voice.
Charlene Soenen-Westerveld - flute, vocals
Charlene is our flautist and vocalist. She has a BA in music - vocal performance and flute - from Redeemer University in Ancaster, Ontario. She is also an active teacher of voice, flute, recorder, and piano in the Cambridge area. Charlene dedicates all her musical endeavors to God who has given her all of her gifts.
Lisa Soenen - harp and piano
Lisa is one of two harpists in the group. She is an award winning harpist, as well as a pianist. She has a BA in music - harp performance - from Redeemer University in Ancaster, Ontario. Lisa is an active teacher of harp and piano. She also teaches Music for Young Children in the Simcoe area. Soli deo gloria!
Julie Soenen - cello, vocals, and piano
Julie is our very talented cellist, as well as a beautiful vocalist. She keeps extremely busy in her musical career majoring in cello at University in her fourth year. She is also the group's pianist. She is first cello in the university orchestra, sings in the university choir, and teaches cello, voice, and piano. She wants to use her gifts to glorify God in every way she can.
Rosemary Soenen - harp, vocals, percussion
Rosemary plays solo harp and piano as well as joining Julie in a harp/cello duet. She especially enjoys celtic music. She studies harp, voice, and piano at the grade ten level in each.
